Volunteer

The Ligingi Community Learning Centre is built on a spirit of volunteerism. All the international team are volunteers, as are the local management committee and other involved Ligingi community members.

We welcome volunteers, Ugandan or international, to work with the LCLC. This volunteering can take place within the Ligingi community itself, or you may wish to work remotely with the international team.

Finance Officer (Voluntary), One Month. Apply now!

The purpose of this role is to develop the LCLC’s internal financial accounting capacity to improve organisational efficiency and effectiveness.

As the Finance Officer, you will be positioned in Ligingi village, eastern Uganda, and work directly with the Community Development Facilitator, the Volunteer Community Mobiliser and the five-member Local Management Committee members. You will formally report to the Projects Director (Australia-based). Your role will require full-time commitment of up to one month (July or August 2012).

The position requires a technically competent professional with strong qualifications and experience in financial accounting who can work independently and in a team to transfer practical skills in financial accounting. You will have 1 to 2 years of experience or be a recent graduate with high academic standing (First / Second Class Upper).
